What to Expect

  • Arrival

Our movers will arrive in the morning on your scheduled move date

Upon arrival the Lead Man will introduce himself and his crew. Next, the Lead Man will present some paper work for you to sign. This paper work will include the work order, a valuation form, and a fragile items waiver.

While you are filling out this paper work the helpers will be protecting your floors and bringing in the proper equipment for your move

.Holguin Moving provides free floor protection as part of its moving service.

Floor protection includes using pads and masonite on hard surfaces and carpet masking any carpeted surface.

We also use stretch wrap top protect your upholstered surfaces.

After the floors are protected and the paper work is signed the movers will begin loading the truck.

  •   Loading the truck

Loading a truck is like building a puzzle. Movers load the truck piece by piece not room by room so it is important to have all the rooms packed and organized prior to move day. The movers will start with heavy dressers and other sturdy furniture then stack boxes then place fragile items on top of those boxes.
Once the truck is loaded the truck will be driven to the new house. Often this is the time that the movers will take their lunch break. It is Holguin Moving's policy to give 60 minutes of work per hour so all breaks are taken off the clock.

At the new house the movers will again protect the floors, banisters, etc..

It is important that someone remain available near the front door to direct the movers to the correct room.

Furniture will be placed exactly where you wish and boxes can either be staked in the garage or placed in the room for which they are labeled.

  • Tips to having a damage free move

Holguin Moving is committed to giving you a damage free move. With this in mind we have established the following policies that will help minimize the chances of damage on your move:

  • Make sure all loose items are packed in a box. This includes pictures, lamps, lampshades, stereo components, computers, and small toys.

  • Tape all boxes closed. Open topped boxes are awkward, may spill, and add spaces that may cause the load to shift while in transit.

  • Do not overstuff boxes. Bulging boxes will damage the items inside. Instead use a bigger box.

  • Make sure to completely fill all boxes. Half filled boxes will crush when stacked causing damage. Fill empty spaces with crumpled paper or small pillows so that the box is firmly packed and does not rattle.

  • Small glass table tops must be packed in a box, large glass tops or marble tops of any size must be crated. Holguin Bros. can build custom wooden crates to protect these fragile pieces.

  • Disassemble all particle board furniture. This furniture is designed to be built and left in place, not to be moved. Holguin Bros. provides experienced move crews that can assist in this process.

  • Don't water plants for 1 week prior to the move.

Our goal is to make your move a smooth, hassle free process.
